Met Office issues 'danger to life' Nottingham weather warning as it predicts thunder and flooding
The expected storms will follow days of extreme heat across Nottinghamshire
by Oliver Pridmore · NottinghamshireLiveA Met Office weather warning for thunder has been issued across Nottinghamshire as a week of extreme weather in the county is expected. The first few days of the week are expected to feel very hot and humid, with the UK expected to record its hottest day of the year so far.
Temperatures in Nottingham on Monday (July 29) are even expected to reach as high as Tenerife. Yet for Thursday (August 1), the Met Office has now issued a yellow weather warning for thunder.
The warning covers the entirety of Nottinghamshire and the vast majority of England and Wales. The Met Office says: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop on Thursday and may lead to some disruption."

In its East Midlands outlook for the rest of the week, the Met Office says: "Largely fine and dry Wednesday but an increasing risk of showers on Thursday, potentially thundery. Feeling warm and humid. Cooler and breezy on Friday, a chance of showers for some."
