A police sub-inspector in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, attempted suicide by sitting on a railway track after being distressed by a judge's alleged misconduct.

A video of the incident has since gone viral.

Sachin Kumar, posted at Bannadevi police station, claimed he was berated by remand magistrate Abhishek Tripathi.

Kumar had brought five bike thieves to court, along with seven recovered bikes. He said the judge, who arrived at 5 pm, accused him of bringing fake suspects and kept him in court until 10 pm. He also alleged that the judge repeatedly scolded him.

Hurt by the accusations and threats, Kumar went to the railway track to end his life but was rescued by his colleagues before a train arrived. Local police were alerted, rushed to the scene, calmed him, and brought him back safely.
