An Invergowrie takeaway owner has explained why he has a “bonkers” sign outside his business starring Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.

A board outside Azaad on Main Street shows the scandal-hit former US president and the North Korean leader enjoying burgers.

The sign has been described as “bonkers” by locals.

Amar Salimi, owner of Azaad, told The Courier: “It started as a joke a few years ago when I asked the printer to put some models on the board as we were promoting burgers at the time.

“They made it a joke but I liked it.

“We had a fire a few years ago. Somehow, the sign survived so we kept it.

“It’s a picture of them with burgers and we don’t do burgers anymore but it’s more sentimental than anything else.

“We get a lot of comments, a lot of people stop and take pictures.”

The sign was spotted on Sunday by one local, who described it on X as “absolutely bonkers”.

One follower replied: “Must be good stuff if it can unite those two.”

In reference to Trump’s make America great again slogan, another said: “Are they making hamburgers great again?”
