Police have deployed more staff in Porirua ahead of a funeral procession for a Hawke's Bay-based gang member.

Kāpiti-Mana Area Commander Inspector Renée Perkins said gang members had been arriving from Hawke's Bay and other areas ahead of the funeral on Wednesday.

The procession is expected to travel from Waitangirua to Whenua Tapu cemetery in the early afternoon.

Perkins said drivers could expect some delays on the road as a result.

Any anti-social, unlawful, or driving-related offending would not be tolerated, police said.
