Heavy rainfall and rising Bago River levels prompt opening of 27 Flood Relief Camps, affecting over 25,000 People

 Due to heavy rainfall and rising water levels of the Bago River in Bago Township, 27 flood relief camps have been opened, and over 25,000 people have been affected by flooding, according to the Ministry of Information.

Currently, there are 27 flood relief camps in operation across four villages in Ward No.13 as of July 28. The Bago Region Government Committee is providing food and accommodation to the flood victims.

On July 29, U Myo Shwe Win, Chief Minister of Bago Region, inspected prevention measures against the flooding and efforts to decrease the impact of flooding in the Bago Region.

Later, the Bago Region Chief Minister met with officials at the Natural Disaster Supervisory Committee Office, located at the Communication Center in Bago Region, and addressed the necessary requirements.
