Exact time heavy rain will drench Devon as Met Office warning declared

A yellow weather warning for rain is in force across the region from midnight

It's set to be a wet and miserable day for parts of Devon tomorrow with heavy rain forecast to lash down on the region. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain which comes into force at midnight.

The Exeter-based forecaster says the warning - which impacts areas including Exeter, Dartmouth and Kingsbridge - will remain in place until around 7pm. The wet weather is set to bring travel disruption and flooding to much of the region.

In a statement on its website, the Met Office warns: "Rain is expected to arrive during Wednesday evening and then turn persistent and heavier overnight and into Thursday.

"Before the rain eases and clears during Thursday afternoon, 20-40 mm of rain is likely to fall widely with peaks of 60-80 mm over hills. The rain will be accompanied by strong south to southeasterly winds."
