CPFSA offers counselling to teen mother who was reported missing with her child

· The Gleaner

The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) says it has offered counselling and other psychosocial support for the 14-year-old mother who was missing with her baby for three days.

The Clarendon girl, Cameka Brown, and her three-month-old baby were reportedly returned home safely.

Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA Laurette Adams-Thomas says the agency is elated at the safe return of both children.

“When we were informed through the Amanda Alert system that this girl and her child were missing we immediately launched an investigation to see if we could locate them and ensure their safe return. With the help of the Clarendon police we were able to locate both children and have them safely returned to their guardian.”

“We will continue to follow up with Cameka and her family, as we have reached out to offer them counselling and other psychosocial support as well as other necessary interventions.” Adams-Thomas said.
