BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in hysterics as Dan Snow suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction during the show's Christmas Special on Christmas Day

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Snow had a bit of a wardrobe mishap during the Christmas Special.

Dan, 45, was dancing away when his trousers split mid-performance during the pre-recorded episode. The historian and TV presenter was dancing with professional partner Nadiya Bychkova to Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You when the incident occurred.

The pair were the first to take to the dancefloor, scoring an impressive 30 out of 40 for their routine. However, it wasn't until judge Craig Revel Horwood pointed out the trouser split that the blunder was noticed. Despite the wardrobe malfunction, viewers at home seemed more concerned about recognising the celebrities taking part in the show, with some suggesting that BBC bosses have "run out of celebrities".

On X, which used to be Twitter, one viewer grumbled: "Have they ran out of celebrity's for Strictly? Who are these people?" Another said: "Keeping up my usual standard of only knowing who half the celebrities are." Someone else admitted: "I might be showing my age but apart from Keisha from the Sugababes and Jay from Eastenders I don't have a Scooby doo who any of the contestants are." And another added: "I've no idea who half of them are! Jeez, I'm getting old."

The six pairs danced their hearts out in festive routines, hoping to wow judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and head judge Shirley Ballas, as well as the audience who could vote. But someone spoiled the fun by leaking the winner online weeks before it was due to air.

Bosses at the show are really keen to find out who keeps giving away the winners after every 2023 series show result got leaked, according to a Daily Mail source. "Enough is enough, it isn't fair on the fans, they look forward to tuning in to see who will be dancing together." the source shared. They also said: "Now procedures are being put in place to see if the mole can be caught though it's tricky because there are so many people involved with Strictly but the bosses are determined to nail he or she."

Strictly Come Dancing's audience, made up of family, friends and the public, are asked to keep their phones away during filming.
