Georgia Kousoulou got emotional as she opened up about her fertility struggles in a recent episode of Georgia & Tommy: Baby Steps.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 32, and her husband Tommy Mallett, 31, discussed the aftermath of their tragic miscarriage as well as their hopes to fall pregnant again. The duo recently launched the new series of their show, and in the opening episode, she talked about her difficult journey.

In April last year, Georgia revealed she had a miscarriage. In a statement shared on social media, she explained she needed an operation after the 12-week scan revealed she and Tommy's unborn baby had not survived. Alongside the statement, Georgia shared a black-and-white picture of her legs, as she lay in a hospital bed.

"Since we lost the baby in April I have had my days," Georgia said on the series. "I get good days and I get bad days which I think is completely normal. There are still going to be things that trigger me. The last week I feel like I'm in a better place, it's taken a long time though."

"I would love to be pregnant right now, I thought I would have been by now but you can only want something so much. All we can do is hope and pray that it happens but unfortunately, I can't control my body." Then, in a teaser for the next episode, Georgia is seen crying as she questions why she isn't pregnant.

After she suffered a miscarriage, Tommy took Georgia and their two-year-old son Brody on holiday as a distraction. "Georgia has had a tough few months but we are coming out the other end of it," he explained. "My main priority over the past three months has been Georgia and making sure she gets out of this place that she has been in. It's been hard, and we haven't spoken about it either."

Georgia announced her miscarriage with a heartbreaking post on Instagram. At the time, she said: "Our 12-week scan to be told our baby had not survived & I needed an op… 12 weeks of feeling every emotion, hoping & praying but in the end, nothing else we could have done.

"We don’t really have the words to say right now except we are lucky to have amazing family & friends around us .. & most importantly we are blessed to have our beautiful brody who we couldn’t have got through this without him. We will have the words soon but right now we are taking time for us as a family."
