BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has broken cover after Amanda Abbington was hit by "death threats" amid their ongoing feud. Giovanni was back dancing this weekend, preparing for his Ballando tour with Pasquale La Rocca.

"Cha cha cha," Ballando wrote on Instagram. "7th Jan - Class 1! Ooo they turned up the choreo here but that just turned up the fun! The analogies just keep getting better too. Who wants a cha cha on tour? #giovannipernice #pasqualelarocca

" #london #manchester." It added: "Gio and Pasquale have as much fun as you all do! Today also happens to be 3 years since @giovannipernice asked ‘do you want to learn to dance with me’ during lockdown … and here we are now, with an ever growing dance family."

This weekend, Gio hinted at the real reason he and Amanda fell out - before they were partnered on Strictly Come Dancing. An old interview with Giovanni has resurfaced in which he spoke about his competitive nature, possibly revealing the reason behind his ‘clash’ with Amanda.

He told The Guardian in 2022: "Then came the experience of winning – something I became addicted to. The first time I won a competition, I thought: “Being the champion feels nice. Let me have more of it!"" On Sunday, Amanda told The Sun she was diagnosed with ‘mild PTSD’ after Strictly for ‘several reasons’ and had also received death threats.

It came after a source told The Sun that the BBC "received a request for the footage they hold of Amanda and Giovanni. It is known as a data subject access request." They said: "There is a feeling that the recordings will lift the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes on Strictly.

"Things in rehearsals can become very tense."
