BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans have speculated over the real reason Amanda Abbington has snubbed the final and refused to appear. BBC fans have spoken out online, after it emerged Amanda wouldn't be starring in the live final on Saturday night after she dramatically quit the programme.

Reddit user Coney Island said: "It has been confirmed Amanda will not make an appearance on the Strictly final. So, for her….fans, this will be very sad. But I’m glad she isn’t making an appearance, and let’s cross all our fingers and toes that Giovanni gets a better partner next year and we can have him back.

"I have missed his Halloween dances." And in reply, BBC viewers have speculated why Amanda has really snubbed the Strictly Come Dancing final. Amanda quit amid speculation she and pro dancer Giovanni Pernice weren't getting along and gelling behind-the-scenes on the show.

Cryin said: "Makes sense to me. If you leave the show of your own volition, I don't think it's right to come back. It's very different to leaving for an injury or illness. Plus it feels forever ago that I sort of forgot she was even in it! I can't be alone in thinking that...."

Satisfaction said: "Personally, I think she underestimated the amount of time and hard work required to get her to a good standard of dance ability. I have read that Giovanni takes training very seriously, he may have been keen to ensure she was a 'contender'. That, coupled with a fiancé who may be in need of a lot of emotional support due to his accident could have been the reason for her dropping out of Strictly.

"There is no shame in finding yourself out of your depth, it takes a lot of courage to admit that you can't cope with everything going on around you. Putting your own wellbeing first is important." Leah said: "Glad I don’t have to see her again and the BBC learned their lesson of casting such a controversial contestant and won’t do this again.

"I do hope Giovanni is back next year and gets a better partner, because I miss his Halloween routine."
