But Lisa has set the record straight after posting a new cast card shot. She captioned it: "Love Beth’s new cast card shot." A Coronation Street soap fan then rushed and commented under the snap, which Lisa shared on her Instagram.

They wrote: "Lisa George aka Beth Tinker is a gorgeous lady amazing actress she was outspoken and funny. Sad that she has left Coronation Street." Lisa replied: "I haven't left!- I'm back in tomorrow! X."

A fan typed back: "YOU'RE NOT LEAVING CORRIE? THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT." Another added: "This is fabulous! I’m really hoping that some fabulous storylines are on their way for you and Kirk, two great comedic actors who are not being fully utilised by Corrie!

"Fingers crossed the Beth with the spark comes back soon and we get to see you and Bertie getting up to some adventures!" And another posted: "I love her cast card too. She is a fantastic actress and I love both Lisa and Beth."

A source told The Sun of Beth's reported departure last month: “Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she’s had some great storylines. She’s become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead’s death.

"She loves Corrie and it’s in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.” After Lisa addressed what she would like to do away from Corrie in an interview, she revealed she was awaiting news of her new contract - which has since been renewed.
