Shirley wrote: "What an epic @dancingwiththestars finale last night. An absolute pleasure watching the show this year. it’s been fantastic getting a double dose of dancing after @bbcstrictly on a Saturday. A huge congratulations to @valentin and @_xochitl.gomez for winning the Mirrorball. You were both outstanding.

"Well done to all who took part from the very very beginning. It takes courage to sign up and stamina to complete a show like this. To all the finalists, every one of you was a winner in your own right. You all put forward something unique and very very special. It was just unbelievable to watch the dynamics between the teams.

"I couldn’t have been prouder of each and every one of you. Of course a big shoutout to @markballas and @charlidamelio for returning and doing an honour dance. It was epic. It comes after Shirley became a grandmother when Mark welcomed his child. Mark wrote on Instagram this week: "Welcome to Earth my son. Banksi Wylde Ballas 11 / 5 / 23." Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse wrote: “Congratulations mom & dad . Wishing you all the best !!! @shirleyballas congratulations Shirley."

Shirley reshared her son's post and simply said: "@markballas @bcjean How so very beautiful. I am beyond excited to be a Glam-Ma to my beautiful grandson Banksi Wylde Ballas."
