Lorraine Kelly has threatened to quit her ITV show and said "I'll get my coat" after Ben Shephard was told off by Susanna Reid. ITV star Lorraine today (Thursday December 7) hreatened to quit her daytime show, which airs from 9am til 10am daily, in an unexpected moment live on air.

It came as she dialled into GMB via video link for a chat with with Good Morning Britain anchor Ben. Lorraine was proudly set to tell a "really bad" Christmas cracker joke as she gave her daily preview of her chat show. She asked Susanna and Ben: "Why does Santa have three gardens?"

Ben quipped: "It's because he's got a hoe hoe hoe." Lorraine replied and said: "You've ruined - I'll get my coat," - threatening to quit her show because of the interference in her joke. Susanna told Ben off and said: "It's not a quiz." She added in another swipe: "You're not on Tipping Point."

This year’s winner was written by Chris Douch from Oxfordshire who asked: “Did you hear about the Christmas cake on display in the British Museum?

"It was Stollen.” The joke that came second in the poll was: “Why is Elon Musk’s Christmas dinner so awkward? He can’t stop talking about his X”. Comedy critic Bruce Dessau, said: “Despite the tumultuous times of the past year, the British public has once again found the silver, or in this case gold, lining in some cheerful jokes.

“This year’s modern Christmas cracker jokes … prove that we are a nation with an unwaveringly inventive sense of humour.” Gerald Casey, Gold channel director, added: “This year has witnessed a wealth of comedic talent in our competition, perfectly combining festive funnies and cultural moments of 2023.”
