EastEnders fans are convinced they have worked out who the Christmas killer will be after spotting a clue in the final episode before the big day. The BBC soap's producers have been teasing the huge festive whodunnit since February with a flash forward showing six women – Denise Fox, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar – faced with a mystery dead man at the Queen Vic.

The potential victims have also been confirmed - Phil Mitchell, Keanu Taylor, Ravi Gulati, Dean Wicks, Nish Panesar, Rocky Cotton and Jack Branning. As the last episode before the Christmas Day special aired on Friday night (December 22), a montage was shown of the residents listening to Christmas carols in the square as Jay Brown watched an emotional video message from the late Lola Pearce following her death from a brain tumour earlier this year.

In the montage, each of the potential suspects and their victims took centre stage. But viewers noticed one of the six women at the centre of the huge storyline received different treatment to the others.

@WCWLion commented on X: "Great episode. So Suki was the only one from the Six who does not look to her man at the end. I still think Nish will be the dead body. # EastEnders."

Tina said: "THAT ENDING. Okay, so all looked at the men they hate but Suki bc she thinks she’s getting her happy ending. I love that Lola spoke over that final scene but WHY. Why was Jay included in… Billy also in shot during that scene. #EastEnders."

@ravismanbun added: "Who knew howie had such a beautiful voice?! lola’s monologue over the singing with the transition of scenes was such a lovely touch to. All the six apart from suki looking at the potential victims too."

EastEnders is on at the much later time of 9:45pm on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
