BBC Strictly Come Dancing professionals rebel against judges as fans say 'can you imagine'

They made their feelings known during the semi-finals

by · Birmingham Live

Strictly Come Dancing viewers watched as the professional dancers made their feelings known about the judge's scores on the semi-final show last night (Saturday, December 9). Normally, the dancers take the judge's comments with good grace and respect.

But the show descended into chaos as the pro dancers shouted their feelings after Annabel Croft's first dance - a Salsa - with Johannes Radebe. Despite impressing the audience and viewers with her performance, the judges noted mistakes including a slip during her floorwork.

They scored the tennis champ, 57, 32 points, placing her at the bottom of the leaderboard. The audience booed the marks and the Strictly pros started chanting "undermarked" behind host Claudia Winkleman as she tried to interview the duo.

Viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to comment, and accused the judges of 'fixing' the contestants for the final next week. Oliver Laity wrote: "Annabel hugely undermarked and all the professionals upstairs were shouting it. She was also the only contestant where the judges didn't mention she should make the final #Strictly I hope this embarrassing attempt to rig things backfires in the public vote."

Megan Hayward said: "My fave thing about strictly is how the cast all love each other, can you imagine any other competition show having fellow competitors chanting undermarked at the judges #strictly."

Wendy Parkin commented: "Annabelle & Johannes undermarked! The judges are manipulating who is in the bottom two. It’s so obvious who they want to win."

James King added: "Well, the judges made it quite clear who they wanted to go home tonight. Annabel was hugely undermarked! #SCD #Strictly."

The leaderboard for the semi-finals stands as follows:

  • Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin: 40 + 36 + 40 = 116
  • Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola: 36 + 37 + 38 + 111
  • Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell: 34 + 38 + 35 = 107
  • Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe: 33 + 32 + 33 = 98

Strictly Come Dancing's results show airs at 7.20pm tonight (Sunday, December 10) on BBC One.
