Coronation Street viewers are convinced Simon Barlow's time on the Cobbles is nearing its end.

Tuesday's visit to Weatherfield continued to explore the character's frustrations after his dad, Peter, exited for a new life. Simon has struggled to cope since and has been frustrated with Cobbles newcomer, Bobby.

The character sat alone in the Rovers Return away from Bobby and told barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth he needs to remain in the pub until everyone at home has gone to bed because he has also fallen out with his family.

The character, played by Alex Bain, ordered another pint of beer, which concerned viewers, who worried he could be following in his dad's footsteps. Peter Barlow struggled with a drink problem throughout his time on Corrie and this was part of his leaving storyline.

Viewers following the show on social media plaform X are worried Simon will go down in a similar route and the character's time on Weatherfield will soon come to an end.

Westie said: "I think Simon has a drinking problem." The user added: "I think this could play but a small part in his exit."

Cam added: "Simon in the pub makes me uncomfortable and I feel sorry for Glenda."

Ryan commented: "Simon's starting to turn into Peter with how much he's drinking lately"
