What's in that narrow box Olympic medal winners are getting in Paris?
Fans can buy an item from the box online or in Paris itself.
by Dylan James · Wales OnlineThe 2024 Olympics is well underway in Paris, with the best athletes from around the globe picking up those all-important medals.
One thing that fans may have noticed is that these Olympic stars are being handed a box on top of a medal. But what's in it?
According to the International Olympic Committee, the box contains the official Olympic poster for this year's games in France, created by artist Ugo Gattoni.

Gattoni reportedly spent 2,000 hours over four months curating the piece of artwork, which you can check out below.
Gattoni has also designed scarves for French fashion label Hermes, and his artistic ability and vision certainly shines through with this stunning design. Joachim Rochin, director of design at the Games, explained that he wanted the drawing to "tell the story of Paris 2024 as an overview of the entire project".
Athletes also receive a plushie of Olympic mascot Phryges, who represents the French revolution. The colour of the emblem on Phryges's belly correlates with what position said athlete came in - gold, silver, bronze. The word 'bravo' is also written on the mascot's back.
The medal itself contains an 18-gram chunk of the Eiffel Tower in the shape of a hexagon.
