Demi Moore, Liev Schreiber and Malcolm Washington Set for Hamptons International Film Festival Honors

HamptonsFilm has unveiled the award honorees for the 32nd annual Hamptons International Film Festival, taking place Oct. 4-14.

Demi Moore will receive the career achievement in acting award, celebrating the actress’ four decades in Hollywood and her recent work in Coralie Fargeat’s body horror “The Substance.” On Oct. 13, Moore will participate in an “A Conversation With…” event where she will accept the award.

“Ray Donovan” leading man Liev Schreiber will be honored with the Dick Cavett artistic champion award for his BlueCheck Ukraine foundation, which supports frontline services in Ukraine’s struggle against Russia. Schreiber will join an “A Conversation With…” event on Oct. 5 moderated by HamptonsFilm chairman emeritus Alec Baldwin, who founded the award in 2017.

Meg LaFauve and Dave Holstein will both be recognized with the achievement in screenwriting award for their work on Disney’s “Inside Out 2,” which recently became the first animated film to earn $1 billion at the international box office. On Oct. 13, HIFF will host a morning talk with LaFauve and Holstein where they will discuss the film’s success.

Finally, Malcolm Washington will receive the breakthrough director award for his feature debut, “The Piano Lesson,” which will screen on Oct. 5 as HIFF’s centerpiece film.

“It is an honor to celebrate an esteemed group of accomplished artists and their indelible contributions to cinema at this October’s festival,” said HamptonsFilm Artistic Director David Nugent. “Our awardees have all experienced career-defining moments this year, and we are thrilled to share in their successes with our audiences.”
