Despite his explosive exit from Good Morning Britain in 2021, Piers Morgan has shared marked the ITV show's tenth anniversary.

The popular breakfast program celebrated a decade on our screens this Monday, with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley fronting the festivities. To mark the occasion, ITV viewers were treated to a mashup of some big on-set moments, which included a blink-and-you-miss-it moment with Piers.

Taking to X, some viewers were seething to find that the 59-year-old presenter wasn't given more time in the anniversary celebrations, with one writing: "A half second clip of Piers Morgan in your ten year mashup is a disgrace to the 50% of the pairing who put the show on the map."

However, the controversial TV personality approached the situation with humour... and a warm message about his experience in the long-running program. Piers shared two contrasting pictures on his X and Instagram accounts this Monday, the former showing him on his first day on the GMB set and the latter a reminder of his dramatic exit in 2021, joking that "divorce is never easy."

"Happy 10th anniversary to Good Morning Britain", he wrote. "I spent five fun, eventful years there, and loved every minute. Here’s a picture of me on my first (April 13, 2015) and last (March 9, 2021) day… divorce is never easy!" The post garnered multiple reactions from Piers' followers, some of which have expressed their frustration over his departure from GMB.

One penned: "Still miss you Piers !!", while another echoed: "They lost the best man on TV." A third viewer admitted: "Stopped watching after you left." Another final TV fan added: "You should go back to mainstream television especially GMB. It’s certainly gone down hill since you left."

Piers' exit from Good Morning Britain was tainted by scandal and triggered by a live TV row with weather presenter Alex Beresford. The pair squabbled when the controversial star reacted to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's shocking 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

During this discussion, the Sussexes had delved into their ongoing tensions with the Royal Family, with the former Suits actress lifting the lid on her mental health torment and the racial micro-aggressions she'd been targeted with during her time as a working royal - and Piers, a notable critic of hers, "didn't believe a word" she'd said.

Alex Beresford had taken a stand for the Sussexes, calling out Piers for his relentless criticism of Meghan Markle. "I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle, or had one, and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has but yet you continue to trash her," he said, prompting Piers to storm out of the program.

His exit with immediate effect was announced by an ITV representative shortly after. Since then, the TV personality was at the helm of his own show on TalkTV, but it has since migrated to YouTube.
