Hugging her husband, Oti told viewers the couple had been "holding in some good news". She said: "Speaking of things that you didn't know at home, we have a little something for all of you, we've been holding some good news. We're having a baby!" She went on to say her "beautiful journey" is "nearly over", joking that " Christmas is about to get even louder".

She shared a montage of clips telling her friends and family about her pregnancy, with older sister and Strictly judge Motsi struggling to hide her emotion. The video also showed the dancer's other sibling, Phemelo, jumping up and down with delight before breaking down in tears.
The dancer explained she kept their baby news secret for many months as the first two trimesters can be "super super challenging". Oti added that she and Marius had stopped trying to conceive before she fell pregnant because "it all just got too much". Oti decided to step away from Strictly after seven years and two wins on the show in 2022. The dancer went on to become a judge on Dancing On Ice and also hosted her own dating show Romeo & Duet.
