Presenter Rylan Clark has confirmed his return to Celebrity Gogglebox with mum Linda while he gave an update on her health.

The pair have offered plenty of laughs on the Channel 4 show since they joined the cast back in 2019. However, due to 71-year-old Linda suffering from a 'horror' fall during her first trip abroad in ten years, the likable duo were absent from the latest series. Linda underwent emergency surgery and has since been recovering from the tragic incident.

At the time, the radio host, 35, hired private jets to fly his mum home from Marbella and pleaded with his followers to keep her in their prayers. Revealing details surrounding the incident back in September, the former X Factor star said: "So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she's had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out there.

In a fresh update, Rylan shared that Linda is back to her normal self. Speaking to The Sun, he said: "My mum is doing really really well... she's really really great. She's stumbling about Lakeside, so she's very much back to normal." He also lifted the lid on his and Linda's future on Gogglebox.

When asked if they would make an epic return at Greggs Presents: The Festive Rewind Party, Rylan joked: “I’m sure if Gogglebox comes back, we’ll be back!”

After his mum had her operation, he'd said he was thankful there'd been no complications and said that she was on the road to recovery. "It was an absolute nightmare. She is good, she is recovering. I am round there every day and she is hobbling about.

"Everyone won’t realise mum is 71 because of how she is but her body is 71 and if she falls over she’s broken her arm and her leg It would have been cheaper to leave her out there but I thought, I can’t do that. My first experience on a private jet was on a medical one, how’s your luck."

Linda's operation is not the first health battle that the celebrity star has had to overcome. She was diagnosed with skin cancer back in 2021 and has been battling Crohn's disease.

Previously, Rylan touched on his mum Linda's health issues in his second memoir last year. Writing in Ten: The Decade That Changed My Life, the 35-year-old recalled: "Mum suffers from Crohn's disease. It's one of those things that can go undetected for quite a long time, but she got diagnosed before I was born, so she's had it all my life.

"She's had three major bowel operations, her first when I was really young. She couldn't work, so I got to be with her at home when I was little, which was amazing. Most of the time when I was a kid, if my mum was ill you wouldn't have known. She just got on with it. But when you knew that my mum was ill, then you knew she was REALLY ill, because otherwise she just kept going. Sometimes, she would be in so much pain and so unwell that she had to stay in bed all day."

He went on to remember how sometimes Linda would be "crying all the time" due to the pain and shared how, "Nanny Rose was my mum's carer" when the Chron's disease attacks got bad, before his beloved grandmother got dementia and Linda had to become her carer instead.
