A Place in the Sun star Danni Menzies was on a mission to find Janet and Andrew their dream Spanish home on the Channel 4 show

During Monday’s episode of the Channel 4 hit show, Danni Menzies was on a mission to find the perfect Spanish house for Janet and Andrew.

The couple had been longing to retire in the Spanish sunshine of the western Costa del Sol for 10 years and with a hefty budget of £200,000, the pair were searching for a three bedroom townhouse with lots of outdoor space for their pet dog.

The pressure was on as the couple had already sold their home in the UK and were also renting a property on the island. Pulling out all the stops, Danni had five impressive properties to show them.

The search got off to a strong start as they loved the first property was a two bedroom house in San Pedro however they insisted that something was missing.

Once they moved on to the second home, a three bedroom apartment in La Duquesa, it wasn’t as successful. Despite the property being under budget at just over £179,000 yhe house hunters were concerned at the large hill they would have to climb to get to the home.

Speaking to Danni, Janet said: "I'm a little bit concerned about that hill. It's a bit too steep and a bit too long."

Even though they loved the view, Andrew commented: "It's that hill. Perfect property but that hill. It's the right property in the wrong place." Janet added: "So sad."

Danni was gutted as she added: "That's a shame." Despite the disappointment, the couple eventually found their ideal property as they secured a two bedroom duplex in Los Flamencos, which was valued at £226,496.

Viewers watching at home went straight to social media and shared their reaction with some pointing out the couple's problem with the hill to get to their property, meanwhile others were pleased to see the pair secure their dream home.
