Coronation Street fans have issued a demand as they claim to have spotted an issue with Ed Bailey's gambling problem being exposed. The builder has been struggling in silence after slipping back into his old gambling habits and things have gone from bad to worse.

After borrowing money and even taking out a credit card in the late Norris Cole's name, the truth about Ed's troubles were revealed to his family during Wednesday night's Corrie (December 27). Before Christmas, Ed told his family they had been burgled when his friend Tony returned demanding the money back he owed him.

Tony made his way into Ed's home after he opened his front door ready to leave to reunite with his wife, Aggie. When Tony threatened to tell her all about what her husband had done, Ed reached to stop his friend from taking the phone which then ended up with Tony punching Ed in the face before ordering him to gather the Christmas presents from under the tree and take them to a pawn shop to get his cash.

Ed later lied to his children Michael and Dee-Dee, his brother Ronnie and his dad Sarge about the disappearance of the presents. However, with the police involved, viewers later saw Craig Tinker tell the Baileys that there was little chance of finding the criminal.

Ed was quick to encourage everyone to just drop it and move on. Meanwhile, when back at work, Sean Tully and Izzy Armstrong surprised Michael with a new wendy house for his daughter, Glori. However, Micheal opened it up to realise it was the one he had bought in the first place before it was stolen.

With new information about where it was re-brought from, Michael and Dee-Dee urged Craig to check the shop’s CCTV. But they were later shocked when Craig called them in and said he wanted to show them what he had found. It showed Ed pawning the presents leaving his children horrified.

Craig told the siblings he would have to take the new information to his superiors, but Dee-Dee begged Craig not to tell them and leave them to sort things with Ed. Craig was reluctant but he eventially agreed, saying if it ever comes out he'd lose his job. Dee-Dee promised it wouldn't and back at home, she and Michael told Ronnie and Sarge about Ed.

When he arrived home, appearing ready to confess, Michael wasted no time in telling him what they knew. Ed pleaded with them not to tell their mum, to which they eventually agreed, but Michael wasn't willing to live under the same roof as he dad any longer. But it didn't appear to stop Ed as he was later heard on the phone posing as brother Ronnie on the phone, confirming that he wants to transfer money into his own account.

Meanwhile, Corrie fans were flocking to social media to demand Aggie make a return while also pointing out what they believe to be an error in the storyline. @Mel_Navan asked: "Surely Craig should've gone to Ed first? #Corrie."

@arngelar said: "Craig would have had to question Ed not show his kids EVIDENCE first. Not having that #corrie." @fordy1952 fumed: "That's a Fu**ing Disgrace!!!...Craig not reporting that Ed . . SACK CRAIG ...he's a bent copper !!! #Corrie." Meanwhile, @pairasteps added: "WE DEMAND THE RETURN O AGGIE, NOW !#Corrie."
