David Beckham issues 'gutted' message days after honour snub as he's seen at UK home

The former footballer is currently enjoying some time in the UK at the Cotswolds home he shares with wife Victoria

David Beckham has said he's 'gutted' as he showed off the damage caused by Storm Henk at his Cotswolds home. The former footballer is currently enjoying some time in the UK and it is at his countryside home where he partakes in some beekeeping.

But now, as well as taking care of his bees and jarring honey, David has become the proud owner of some chickens thanks to his wife Victoria. The former Spice Girl gave her social media followers a look at her lively gift to husband David on Christmas Day as she posted an Instagram Reel of him feeding a number of clucking chickens. "

"What do you get @davidbeckham for Christmas??" Victoria, 49, playfully pondered in her caption. "I got some chickens and a cockerel," David, 48, could be heard saying in the clip as he could also be seen wearing a Santa hat while sprinkling seeds for his new house guests.

Days later and Victoria later poked fun at the dad-of-four as he enjoyed a late night read of 'Keeping Chickens for Dummies' after it was revealed David had been snubbed for her knighthood again in the King's New Year's Honours.

But in his latest social media update, David was a bit down as he showed how Storm Henk, which saw gusts of winds across parts of the country reach up to 94mph, left his sprawling garden. Taking to his Instagram Sotry, he revealed that one of the trees on his property had been felled by the high winds.

In his caption, he shared: "Could have been worse. Still gutted," finishing the post off with a tearful emoji. But he was soon kept busy as he headed to check on his chickens and the cockeral as he typed alongside a video of them out and about: "In other news..."

It comes after David couldn't help but make one last dig at his wife Victoria before the year was out as they enjoyed a slap-up lunch with her parents. The golden couple headed out for a posh meal with Victoria's mum and dad Antony and Jackie Adams.

The foursome posed for a snap together around the table as they dressed up for the occasion before later seeing in the New Year on Sunday (December 31). But due to their luxurious surroundings, David couldn't help but mock his wife of 24 years as he harked back to a moment in his Netflix series in which Victoria claimed to be from a 'working class' family before David forced her to admit her dad drove a Rolls Royce.

As he took to Instagram to share his last post of the year, the picture of himself, Victoria and his in-laws, David couldn't help make reference to the moment that saw him receive kudos from Netflix viewers. "Just a nice casual New Year’s Eve lunch at The Ritz," he started before adding: "@victoriabeckham Very working class [crying laughing emoji]. My mother & father in law left in their Roll’s."
