Lana Washington was seen dodging more bomb threats as Trigger Point returned with episode two of its brand new series. For those who are yet to binge-watch the ITV drama, viewers tuned in on Sunday night (February 4) as series two continued.

The dramatic series made an edge-of-your-seat return to screens at the end of last month with Vicky McClure back as bomb disposal officer Lana Washington, former Afghanistan soldier who now works with the Metropolitan Police putting a stop to terror threats across the capital.

It was revealed at the start of the new series that Lana was back from secondment in Estonia, where she was training Ukrainian bomb disposal teams. She hadn't yet returned to active duty but it's wasn't long before disaster struck. While giving a talk to security officers from major financial companies, a bomb is detonated in the heart of London and she was soon back at the forefront of the action.

As Trigger Point continued on Sunday night, the Met Police were seen conducting enquiries and interviews as they arrested a potential suspect involved in the attack on the power plant which then saw the policing team lured to a derelict car park where more attacks took place with lives lost.

But as they tried to find those responsible, Lana was left tackling more threats and facing more horrifying deaths in the process. However, those tuning in couldn't help but be distracted by Lana's moved when she heads towards a dangerous, and more often than not life-threatening, situation.

@ScottishHousew1 asked: "Why does Lana always take her helmet off when entering a dodgy looking situation?!! Surely she’d be safer with it on #TriggerPoint." @signoramac echoed: "Why does Lana take her safety helmet off when so close to a bomb? #Triggerpoint."

@CityJuiceBar said: "It's like Lana has a sixth sense for the presence of bombs and bomb-making material. Whenever she takes her helmet off, that means there's definitely explosives nearby. Muppet. #triggerpoint." @MawganTr added: "I’m loving series 2 of #triggerpoint but I’ve noticed how Lana takes her helmet off just as she’s about to deal with high explosives / fiddle with bombs."

But @Samanth22356123 said: "She’s already explained this. You can disarm a device much more accurately without the helmet on and it’s a case of it detonated the helmet won’t save you anyway. #TriggerPoint."

And they'd be right as actress Vicky previously told the Mirror: "The helmet thing was a big thing last time – everyone was screaming at the telly asking why on earth Lana was taking her helmet off in dangerous situations. I had to keep explaining that if she kept it on and the bomb went off that close it wouldn’t protect her. If she takes it off, it is less distracting and won’t knock a potential device or obscure her vision."
