BBC Strictly Come Dancing pair 'will struggle' in final as they lack two things the other couples have

After 13 weeks of learning to dance, this year’s Strictly Come Dancing comes down to the grand finale on Saturday night (December 16) when the remaining three celebrities and their dance partners perform for one last time.

It was revealed last weekend that Ellie Leach, Layton Williams and Bobby Brazier are this year’s finalists of the BBC One dance contest alongside their professional dance partners Vito Coppola, Nikita Kuzmin and Dianne Buswell.

And as Strictly 2023 reaches its climax, the remaining couples will perform a whopping three dances each - their favourite from the series, a dance from the series picked for them by the judges and a ‘showdance’ that can show off everything they have learnt in the past 13 weeks.

For their judges' pick, EastEnders actor Bobby and Dianne will recreate their Samba to 'Young Hearts Run Free' by Candi Staton, while their favourite dance will be their Couples' Choice to 'This Woman's Work' by Maxwell. They will then do their show dance to a La La Land medley.

Meanwhile, former Coronation Street star Ellie and Vito will re-perform their Paso Doble to 'Insomnia' by 2WEI for their judges' pick, while their favourite goes to their American Smooth to 'Ain't That A Kick In The Head' by Robbie Williams. They will also show dance to a Jennifer Lopez Megamix.

And last, but by no means least, actor and West End star Layton and Nikita will reperform their Quickstep to 'Puttin' on the Ritz' by Gregory Porter after it was selected by the judges, while the pair have chosen their Argentine Tango to 'Tattoo' by Loreen as their favourite routine. For their show dance, they'll perform to 'Friend Like Me' by Ne-Yo.

But according to a body language expert, it’s Bobby and Dianne who are going into the final week of the competition as the underdogs.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, body language expert Darren Stanton said after the pair found themselves in the bottom-two during Strictly’s semi-final last weekend: “I definitely believe Bobby and Dianne are the weakest couple going into the final. They don’t display the same level of rapport and connection compared to the other partnerships.

“Based on their non verbal gestures, it’s clear the pair have reached the end of the road. They’ve been through so much together, but they appear to be exhausted. They are both tired out. If you look at the footage now, compared to when they started on the show, they aren’t showing the same levels of passion and determination.”

He added: “What was more interesting with Bobby and Dianne during the bottom two is that they looked so much more pensive. I truly believe that they thought they were going to be leaving. They didn’t believe in their hearts that they were going to go through. It’s going to take a lot of hard work and determination in order for Bobby and Dianne to pull it out the bag during the final. While they seem to have developed a strong bond over the course of the series, the final will be a huge test for them. Layton and Ellie have remained consistent, so I think Bobby may struggle.”
