Star Awards 2024: Shinee's Onew and actress Charmaine Sheh will be presenting awards

The lineup of hosts, performers and award presenters for this year's show was unveiled on Friday (Apr 5). The Walk of Fame and Backstage LIVE marathon have also been reimagined.

K-pop group Shinee’s leader Onew and Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh are among some of the international stars who will take to the stage at this year’s Star Awards on Apr 21.

Mediacorp unveiled the lineup of hosts, performers and award presenters for the Star Awards 2024, which will be held at the Theatre at Mediacorp, in a press release on Friday (Apr 5).

This year's annual celebration of the local Chinese entertainment industry will be co-hosted by veteran artistes Guo Liang and Dennis Chew. 

K-pop idol Onew will be a guest performer and an award presenter, while Taiwanese singer Chao Chuan will also be stepping into the spotlight to perform.

Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh and Taiwanese actor Chen Bo-lin will join the lineup of award presenters. 

Homegrown talent will be appearing as well, including actors Boon Hui Lu, Felicia Chin, Jeanette Aw, Rebecca Lim, Xiang Yun, Xu Bin and Zoe Tay.

Fans can also look forward to Star Award 2024’s Walk Of Fame, which will be hosted by presenters Hazelle Teo, Herman Keh and Jeff Goh.

The star-studded red carpet will even have its own series of live acts. This includes performances from local talents – singer-songwriter Nathan Hartono and EDM singer-producer Jasmine Sokko.

Notably, hip-hop artiste Tosh Rock and singer Desmond Ng will collaborate to perform a medley celebrating this year’s Best Theme Song nominees. 

That’s not all. The fan-favourite Backstage LIVE programme has also been reimagined as a face-off between Team Outcasts, comprising Xixi Lim, Yan Wei Xiao Er and Rao Zi Jie, as well as Team SGAG, featuring Shawn Thia, Isabelle Quek and Queenie Lim.

In a seven-hour challenge, each team will be tasked with completing various missions – even while some of them, Star Awards nominees, walk the red carpet themselves.

The SA2024 live show and Walk of Fame will air on Channel 8 and U, mewatch and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel, while Backstage LIVE and highlights of the Gala Night will air exclusively on the latter two platforms.
