Spencer Matthews has very close ties to the Royal Family thanks to his elder brother James, who is married to Pippa Middleton.
by Nicola Croal, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/nicola-croal/ · Daily RecordFormer Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews has a very close connection to the Royal Family that many may not know about.
The 36-year-old has just broken a new Guinness World Record after completing a jaw dropping 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert, running an impressive 786 miles on the sand in 45 degree heat.
Raising £350k for charity Global's Make Some Noise during his marathons, Spencer is known to be a charitable person after he also previously appeared on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer earlier this year.
While his charity work and reality tv background is common knowledge, many may not be as clued up about his family life.
The dad-of-three is married to model Vogue Williams and the pair share their kids, Theodore, five, Gigi, three and two-year-old Otto together.
Spencer comes from a very affluent background with his self-made millionaire father, David Matthews and even has ties to the Prince and Princess of Wales thanks to his older brother, James, who is 13 years his senior.
Former professional racing driver James Matthews is married to Pippa Middleton, making him the brother-in-law of Kate Middleton.
James, 49, who is a hedge fund manager, and heir to the Scottish feudal title of Laird of Glen, tied the knot with Pippa, 40, in May 2017 in a luxurious ceremony at St. Mark's Church in Englefield, Berkshire, close by to the Middleton family home.
The pair now share three children together - Arthur, five, Grace, three, and one-year-old Rose. The family are believed to live in Berkshire, just a short distance away from William and Kate's Adelaide Cottage home on the royal Windsor Home Park estate.

James and Pippa's paths first crossed in 2007 while at the luxury Eden Rock hotel in St. Bart’s, which is actually owned by Spencer and James' father, David Matthews.
Self made multi-millionaire David, was also a former racing car driver before he retired from injuries and moved into the hotel industry.
He bought the prestigious Eden Rock Caribbean hotel in St Barths back in 1995 which has welcomed an impressive array of celebrity guests such as Elton John and Beyoncé over the years. He also owns a 10,000-acre estate, Glen Affric, in Scotland, and holds the title Laird of Glen Affric.
Spencer and James sadly had another brother named Matthew who passed away in 1999.
Much like the rest of the Matthews family, Matthew had an adventurous nature. He sadly passed away in a tragic mountaineering accident on an expedition up Mount Everest when he was just 22-years-old.
At the time of his death, Spencer was only 10-years-old, and was not able to fully comprehend death at such a young age.

Speaking about his late brother, who was his 'superhero', on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail Podcast, he said: "I didn't understand death fully then, it didn't register with me. Mike was my superhero. To me, it just couldn't be true.
"I remember not even being physically upset because I thought, well that's nonsense. That's obviously not true. As time passed, I realised it was true and that I wouldn't see him again. At the time, that was very difficult."
