Viewers described it as a 'brave choice'

Fern Britton has left fans of Celebrity Big Brother talking with a bold confession. Fern, who used to present This Morning, spoke about the kind of underwear she likes.

She was chatting in the kitchen with Zeze Millz when she talked about her choice. But Fern surprised people watching when she said she often doesn't wear any because she doesn't like pant lines showing.

The 66-year-old even said she doesn't wear pants with jeans. Zeze was surprised and said: "Imagine wearing no underwear with jeans," and Fern answered: "Oh I do it! My girls are revolting to me, they say 'mother how can you' and then they say 'actually it's alright because you're so old you're all dried up up there'."

People went on X - which used to be Twitter - to talk about it. One person wrote: "I don't get people who go commando. My bits would be rubbing."

Another said: "WHAT ABOUT CHAFFING FERN.", reports the Mirror.

And someone else wrote: "Fern wearing jeans without underwear... b***** hell she's brave."

In the latest episode of Celebrity Big Brother, viewers thought Fern made a sneaky comment about her ex Phil Vickery. When she found out she might have to leave next, Fern wanted to stay happy and started singing.

She sang: "I've got a life, I've got a life.... thank god I'm nobody's wife! " and threw her blanket in the air. Some people think this was about Phil after they split up four years ago.

One tweet said: "Fern singing thank God I'm no one's wife throwing shade at Phil Vickery! " Another fan of Big Brother asked on Twitter: "Why hasn't anyone properly had a conversation with Fern Britton? I would like to know what happened between her and ex husband Phil Vickery and life after This Morning! #CelebrityBigBrother."

Fern and Phil, who were together for 20 years, have kept quiet about why they split up. In 2022, Phil was spotted giving a kiss to Lorraine Stanton, who is a close friend of his ex-wife.

But Fern says they're still mates. She told Woman and Home magazine: "We simply needed to follow our own paths. Over time we realised we weren't necessarily having the kind of life we once did. It seemed right to say 'thank you' and move on. But we do have a good friendship."

She also said: "Phil and I had the greatest fun together and we have the most beautiful daughter together, Winnie.... so we will always be connected."

Fern added: "Life has changed for me in the last 10 years, especially with my career. So it's lovely to think I can just concentrate on writing, the kids and getting on with life. This feels quite comfortable, and Phil and I knew it was the right thing to do."
