Viewers of ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! have been critical of Josie Gibson after she clashed with Fred Sirieix before he was eliminated. Josie experienced days of tension in the jungle after being given the role of 'camp cook' alongside Tony Bellew. However, Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has defended her fellow ITV star.

38-year-old Bristol mum Josie was put in the role by second evictee Nella when she was made 'camp leader' by her fellow campmates. It meant the role was taken away from former camp chef, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, who was clearly irked by no longer being able to take the lead when it came to cooking for the campmates.

But while Fred was heavily criticised for his attitude, which no doubt eventually led to his exit, Josie is also dividing viewers. Some have been unimpressed with her reaction to Fred, which has also seen her gossiping to former EastEnders star Danielle Harold behind his back, reports The MEN.

Fred attempted to make a number of suggestions to Josie as she got hot around the campfire. He was also critical about her efforts in the Bush Telegraph.

Susanna Reid has spoken out in defence of Josie Gibson as I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here viewers began to turn on her fellow ITV star. Susanna made her comments on Good Morning Britain today, Wednesday (December 6), as they discussed the latest elimination from the jungle.

On Tuesday night, Fred Sirieix became the third campmate to be given their marching orders from camp after a public vote. During his time on the ITV reality show, he came into conflict with other contestants over cooking duties and was also told he was “forcefully” putting himself up for Bushtucker trials in both Monday and Tuesday's episodes.

The 51-year-old First Dates star also had disagreements with YouTuber Nella Rose – the second contestant to be eliminated – former Ukip leader Nigel Farage as well as This Morning presenter Josie.

It appears that fellow ITV presenter Susanna is on Josie's side as they discussed the series on GMB this morning. She said: "Fred Sirieix was chucked out of the jungle and people are wondering whether it was something to do with him not being able to cope with not being 'head chef' and the way he treated our Josie," she said before a clip of Fred played out.

Susanna later said, after Richard Arnold chatted to Nick Pickard's girlfriend Sarah live from the Gold Coast, that she would have 'blown' if she was Josie and praised her ITV colleague's ability to remain calm and composed. "I understand that he's effectively a professional chef, a maître d' isn't he. But when you're not cooking, if you can't stand the heat, step back from Josie at the campfire!

"I thought Josie dealt with it with enormous grace, actually. I think I might have blown. or I would have said, 'You know what Fred, you are a better cook than me, you do it!'" When co-host Ed Balls teased: "You 'think' you might have blown?" Susanna replied: "You think I would have done?" to which he said: "Oh yes," before turning directly to the camera and saying of Susanna: "May I say, she would have blown, no doubt!"
