  • Kartik Aaryan recalls pasting posters for his film
  • Aamir Khan also did the same for his debut
  • On the work front, the actor was last seen in 'Chandu Champion'

Everyone who has watched Chandu Champion will remember a sweet moment where Murlikant Petkar saw his first news article in a newspaper, leaving him overwhelmed. India Today recently sat down to chat with actor Kartik Aaryan, who played the paralympic winner in the Kabir Khan directorial and quizzed him about his first experience of being in the news.

The actor shared that while he doesn’t remember much about how it happened, he does have a distinct memory of pasting his posters around in the city for his film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama. He also shared how even Aamir Khan did the same for his first film.

“There were fewer posters around, so I decided to do the needful. I started putting posters around Lokhandwala (Mumbai). Since a lot of aspiring actors live around the same place, I wanted to put across how my film is releasing soon. I still remember how I took those small paper posters and stuck them around. It’s actually illegal to do so,” Kartik laughed as he shared the memory.

As we got on to discuss the film, we asked him about breaking out of his chocolate boy image and exploring other genres. Calling it a journey, the actor said that he has proved what he had to, and will have to keep proving it time and again, given he comes with no backing.

“It has taken a lot for me, to reach here and get a film from Kabir (Khan) sir. It’s no less than an achievement for me to be directed by him. It has been a process and there is also a business module involved before you get something worthy. But you must be talented enough so that you can mould yourself as per the projects’ needs. I think this is my journey, and I am proud of the same. It has always been like a test with every film. There is a nervous energy and I feel it’s an exam for me each time,” Kartik Aaryan concluded.
