Update: OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Nike are nearing the reveal of their 20th collaborative collection together with a new roster of student designers offering six unique sneakers, including this Air Jordan 6 “Doernbecher” colorway that we first spotted earlier this week. As we await the official unveiling, a closer look at the AJ6 has been shared. While the right shoe — the only one showcased previously — pairs a pink base with white overlays and blue detailing, the left shoe leans on blue as its base as white and pink accent the distinct sneaker. Purple “Give Life” text is embroidered at the toe as a hit of gold arrives at the lace lock. Stay tuned for more details as pairs are expected to drop this holiday season and review our initial breakdown below for more info.

Original Story: Jordan Brand, Nike, and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Doernbecher Freestyle partnership — an initiative that allows children undergoing treatment at the hospital to create their own sneakers — in 2024. Ahead of the 20th-anniversary collection’s full reveal later in October, an early image of a forthcoming Air Jordan 6 have surfaced.

The Sole Sorcerer

The first Air Jordan 6 to be included in a Doernbecher collection since then-12-year-old Jordan Dark helped create a pair in 2009, this new take on Michael Jordan‘s sixth signature sneaker offers a playful pastel look with pink and teal details atop a white leather base and plenty of loving details. Chief among these are the altered perforations on its midfoot and collar, where the standard circular embellishments are swapped out for tiny hearts. There’s also a single gold heart below the middle eyelet and what appears to be a Velcro patch on the collar, indicating that the design may boast an element of customization.

Expect this Air Jordan 6 and the rest of the 2024 Doernbecher Freestyle collection, namely an Air Max Sunder, Air 180, two colorways of the Air Max Dn and an Air Pegasus 41 to be officially revealed on October 18, then drop sometime before the end of the year.
