Panchayat season 3 star Durgesh Kumar has been receiving love for his performance in the recently released web series. Well, he has been part of the show since the first season and has also been part of the industry. Recently, in a chat with Josh Talks, Durgesh shared the struggles which he faced in his professional life. He also revealed that he auditioned for PK, but never got selected. He even revealed that he bagged Imtiaz Ali’s Highway, but got ouster from the NSD repertory.

Durgesh Kumar on his struggle days

Durgesh Kumar said that his friend worked at Mukesh Chhabra’s casting agency and called him to audition for PK, but later he informed him that he was not selected for the film. His friend told Durgesh that he bagged a role in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway and it was a 45-day schedule from Gurgaon to Jammu and Kashmir. Durgesh took a 45-day leave from the repertory and due to the rules, he was thrown out of it.

Durgesh even said that he came to Mumbai in 2013 and got into drill. He said that he started taking work where he had one or two scenes in films like Freaky Ali, and Sultan. For survival, he also did soft porn with the ALT Balaji show Virgin Bhaskar Season 1 and 2. He even said that the casting directors could see his potential, but he could not crack anything as he could not win the producer’s trust for some reason.

During the lockdown, he had a lot of work at that time and suddenly got an audition call for Panchayat. He even said that his father had a brain hemorrhage, and at the same time he got calls to do Panchayat season two, Bhakshak, and Laapataa Ladies.

The web series stars Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, Biswapati Sarkar, Sunita Rajwar, Pankaj Jha, Ashok Pathak, Sanvikaa, Rajesh Jais and Aasif Khan in main roles.
