Layton Williams has spoken out for the first time since losing out to Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach in the Strictly final on Saturday night.

Ellie became the youngest ever winner as she lifted the Glitterball with professional partner Vito Coppola, despite scoring the lowest on the judges' leaderboard. Layton and Nikita Kuzmin scored a near-perfect 119 out of 120, followed by Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell with 117. Ellie and Vito achieved 115, though the judges' scores are not taken into account during the final.

After enjoying the Strictly after-party - which continued until the early hours - Layton returned to Instagram to share a post from a devastated fan. In the post, the person had shared a photo of their young son in a glittery turquoise dress. They wrote: "A lot of heart break in our house today over the @bbcstrictly result. @lautonwilliams @nikita_kuzmin thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing him that being fully, fabulously, unapologetically himself is to be celebrated."
