Love Island fans were left fuming with "vile” Joey Essex when he told his ex to "shut her mouth" during an explosive argument.

Sunday night’s episode saw the villa settle down for a dramatic movie night, revealing to the girls what the former TOWIE star had gotten up to in Casa Amor. 33-year-old Joey’s antics were all too much for 25-year-old Grace Jackson to watch, as she proclaimed their relationship was "done".

The blonde beauty was forced to watch Joey shamelessly flirt with bombshell Jessy Potts as she entered the villa. The reality TV legend was exposed as a player after clips were played of his telling both Grace and Jessy that he was not interested in the other girl.

The final straw for Grace was watching Joey snog Jessy on the terrace, mere moments after reassuring her that he only had eyes for her.

After watching the clips, Joey and Grace - who have previously dated outside the villa - became embroiled in a red-hot row, with Grace branding her lying ex a child, telling him to "Bore off, man".

Joey’s reaction - which saw him branded a red flag by fans - saw him yell back: "You bore off man! What are you even doing here anyway?" The star then went on to claim that his romance with Grace was completely over before he moved on with bombshell Jessy, finishing off his rant by shouting: "Shut your mouth!"

ITV2 viewers were quick to slam Joey on social media, with some branding him a "narcissist". Writing on X, one fan said: "The narcissistic discard of Grace by Joey Essex is difficult to watch #loveIsland."

Branding him "vile", another added: "Joey showing his true colours. A man of his age talking to Grace like that??!" A third chimed in, agreeing with Grace, adding: "Joey Essex the biggest man child ever to exist. Lucky escape Grace."

Another added that Joey’s appearance on Love Island had made them see him in a whole new light. They said: "To think that I used to be a Joey Essex fan before watching him on LoveIsland. Can’t stand him now #loveisland." A fifth person wrote: "You can always tell a guy's true self when he’s talking about an ex or arguing with a girl."
