Two of Netflix's top shows were just fireplaces and beat The Crown
by Emma Saletta For Dailymail.Com · Mail OnlineA Netflix original show, a popular CBS sitcom, and an all-new comedy special faced tough competition yesterday from a pair of fireplaces.
Fireplace for Your Home: Birchwood Edition and Fireplace for Your Home: Classic Edition came in at number two and number four on Netflix's Top 10 TV Shows in the US on the day after Christmas.
The fireplaces beat out The Crown, Young Sheldon, and Trevor Noah: Where Was I Right Before New Year's Eve.
However, the episodes featuring hour-long footage of fireplaces were not able to beat Ricky Gervais' new comedy special Armageddon on the top 10 for the number one spot.
However, the show's fiery reign in Netflix's top five spots did not last for long, and as of Wednesday, they are no longer in the top 10.
Netflix first added the original Fireplace for Your Home on their platform in 2011 after the short was released in 2008.
The original Fireplace for Your Home comes with three hour-long episodes.
Fireplace for Your Home: Birchwood Edition and Fireplace for Your Home: Classic Edition also debuted on the streaming platform in 2011.
The two that were ranked in the top 5 US TV shows on Netflix have only one 60-minute episode.
Each film was directed by filmmaker George Ford.
Other fireplace movies he's made that are not on Netflix include Fireplace for Your Home: Christmas Hymns & Carols and Fireplace for Your Home: Holiday Edition.
The films available on DVD or Blu-ray are currently available to purchase on the Fireplace for Your Home website.
The Crown released the first part of its sixth and final season on November 16 and the second on December 14.
The first episode of Season 6 was only watched by an average of 778,000 households in the first three days - a massive drop compared to the 1.2 million that watched the Season 5 debut last year.
However, the show still is in the top of the US TV show charts and currently rests in the top 10 as of today.
Season 1 of Young Sheldon was watched by Netflix users for 13.9 hours for the week of December 4-10.
The show, which will begin airing its final season on February 15, was added to Netflix on November 24.
