Boeing Saudi and Bahri Logistics team up for supply chain enhancement

RIYADH: The supply chain and distribution sectors within Saudi Arabia are poised for growth thanks to a new partnership between Boeing’s local subsidiary and Bahri Logistics. 

According to a press release, the aircraft industry company aims to enhance its supply chain operations in the Kingdom through the agreement, with a specific focus on elevating the cargo firms’s role in supporting services and defense-related products. 

The partnership will explore various opportunities, including freight forwarding, warehousing, inventory management, and performance-based consulting. This will leverage Bahri Logistics’ established capabilities and supply channels in the region. 

Asaad Al-Jomoai, president of Boeing Saudi Arabia, said: “Saudi Arabia is a strategic market for Boeing, and we are investing to grow our presence and supply chain to better serve our customers and provide the parts and services they need in the Kingdom.” 

He added: “Together with Bahri Logistics, we will contribute to the growth of the Kingdom’s defense capabilities and drive growth in the aerospace sector by utilizing the Special Integrated Logistics Zone SILZ.”   

President of Bahri Integrated Logistics Soror Basalom expressed pride in the collaboration with Boeing Saudi Arabia and the exploration of the new, exciting opportunity. 

“At Bahri Logistics, we look forward to leveraging our capabilities and expertise within the domain of logistics to offer exceptional services that meet the needs of Boeing Saudi Arabia,” he added. 

Basalom highlighted the commitment of Bahri Integrated Logistics to enhance the efficiency and scale of Boeing’s supply chain activities, aiming to contribute to the growth and development of the defense sector in Saudi Arabia. 

The collaboration aims to improve the efficiency and scale of Boeing’s supply chain activities while supporting the growth and development of Saudi Arabia’s defense sector. This strategic engagement is in line with Bahri’s aspirations to establish itself as a global logistics leader, aligning with the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. 

Speaking to Arab News on the sidelines of the World Defense Show 2024, Ted Colbert, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space, and Security, highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s defense sector is future-ready, with plans to enhance capabilities for “whatever is next.”  

He emphasized partnering with Saudi Arabia saying: “We’ve partnered with Saudi Arabia for over 80 years, both in the commercial and the defense side of our business, and we see a really bright future for our partnership and relationships.”
