Lidl shoppers told they can cut their energy bills 'from Thursday onwards'

The Sanitas Heated Underblanket - landing on shelves for only £19.99 – is a steal when compared with a 24KW boiler, which costs £13.44 per hour to run. The blanket costs just 2p per hour to run, compared with a 24KW boiler costing £13.44, customers can save the pennies and snuggle under the warming blanket.
Using this must-have product all night would equate to just 21p for a night of uninterrupted shut-eye, the retailr says. Also included in the range is Lidl’s Silvercrest Heated Blanket (£39.99). Lidl - which is rivalled by the likes of Aldi, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and more - says this is perfect for use in any area of the house, whether cosying up on the sofa or putting across chilly legs while a working from home.

Lidl’s Heated Bedding range is available in stores nationwide from 4 January, whilst stocks last. The average price per kWh of electricity is approximately 27p so a 100W electric blanket would cost 2.7p at full power for an hour.
If you leave it on for two hours before going to bed – that’s just over 5p. If you were to leave it on all night for seven hours, that would amount to approximately 19p. ITV star Martin Lewis previously shared a guide to help “heat the human not the home”.
The BBC Sounds podcast host revealed that an electric blanket (costing £14) costs 3p an hour to run, which equals £1.37 per week if used for seven hours a day. This equates to approximately £5.48 per month.
