Shoppers who need to get their Christmas dinner vegetables should know that Iceland is stocking a range of produce for as little as one pence - but not for long.

In a bid to help customers endure the cost of living crisis during the holiday, the value supermarket is stocking carrots, sprouts, cauliflower, potatoes and more for the bargain price. The limited time deal, which applies to online orders only, is running for two days from Thursday, December 21 until the end of December 22.

It comes as Research commissioned by the retailer shows 48 per cent of Brits are worried about affording food shops in the lead-up to Christmas. The holiday is known for being expensive, so being able to save in anyway can make a difference.

Available online to all Iceland customers, no minimum spend is required but usual delivery charges apply for same day or next day delivery. Customers can simply redeem the code PENNY-VEG at checkout, which will also give customers up to £1.99 off their shopping bill.

Some of the vegetables available in the deal include:

  • Keelings Carrots (600g)
  • Keelings White Potatoes (1.6kg)
  • Keelings Parsnips (550g)
  • Keelings Broccoli (400g)
  • Keelings Brussels Sprouts (400g)
  • Iceland Cauliflower Florets (1.2kg)
  • Iceland Petits Pois (800g)
  • Iceland Carrots, Broccoli, and Peas (1kg)
  • Iceland Country Mix (1kg)

Richard Walker, Executive Chairman at Iceland Foods & The Food Warehouse said: "We’re confident that our 1p online exclusive veg deal will be a big hit with customers, helping Christmas dinner budgets go further and lightening some of the financial pressures so they can enjoy the best festive period possible.”

Iceland has confirmed there are still thousands of delivery slots available this week for shoppers seeking to secure their festive food shop, as more have been released in the run-up to Christmas.

Iceland isn't the only supermarket helping shoppers save money this Christmas, with Aldi, Tesco, Lidl and more having slashed festive veggies to just 15p.
