St Pauls has become one of Bristol’s coolest areas to live in the past few years. Close to Stokes Croft there are plenty of bar and restaurant options for people to choose from.

While the place may be a cool place to live, with the house prices being more affordable, more people are moving to the area. According to Zoopla, St Pauls has an average house price of £275,856 - making the area one of the more affordable in the city.

But while property prices aren’t the highest, what exactly are people getting for their money and what kind of salary will people need to be earning to be able to buy?

In order to afford an average-priced property in St Pauls, you would need a household income of around £61,000, one of the lower salaries required to live in any part of Bristol. All numbers are based on basic calculations and don’t take into account any savings or the size of the deposit put down by prospective buyers.

We’ve put together a list of properties around the average price in St Pauls that you would be able to afford with the average income.

Maisonette on Dove Street - £190,000

The first property prospective buyers could choose from is a three-bedroom maisonette well under the average property price for the area. While not in the best of condition, the property has plenty of potential and could become a brilliant family home.

Set across two floors, the lower-ground floor has a large kitchen, which could do with a little modernisation. Also on the lower-ground floor is the living room.

On the ground floor there are the three bedrooms, two of which are decent sized doubles and the third is a small single. The final room on the ground floor is the family bathroom, which is in desperate need of a facelift. Apartment on Dean Street - £265,000

Another property that will definitely catch prospective buyers’ eyes is this two-bedroom apartment, which is just under the average property price - but is in great condition and is already decked out in a modern way.

Set across one level the apartment has a great layout. As you walk in the front door, you enter into the long hallway that leads down the entire length of the apartment. On the right hand side of the property are the two bedrooms, both decent sizes with plenty of space to fit double beds.

Further down the hallway is the family bathroom, again very modern and has a shower over the bath. The final room is the living/kitchen which is compact but perfectly sized for a small family or even two friends and lets in plenty of light.

Apartment on King Square Avenue - £217,500

The final property that might catch buyers’ eyes is a one bedroom apartment in a brilliant central location. Again much like the previous property, this apartment is set on one floor. The first room you see as you step into the apartment is the bathroom featuring an all white suite and a shower over the bath. The bedroom is large with plenty of space for a double bed and storage like wardrobes and chest of drawers.

The final room in the apartment is the kitchen, living, and diner - a brilliant open space offering a great area to hang out with friends or even work from home. If you like the look of this property and want to know more, click here for further information and the full list of pictures.
