Los Angeles-based rockers Buckcherry are scheduled to perform Aug. 9 at the Diamond Ballroom.

The concert currently is planned as the first event at the venerable Oklahoma City venue following its temporary closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. As previously reported, the Diamond Ballroom remains closed at this time, after the venue postponed its planned July shows amid the rising COVID-19 case numbers.

Buckcherry will be performing in OKC in support of its eighth studio album "Warpaint."

The management of the Diamond Ballroom has been working on ways to reconfigure the venue and limit capacity so that it can reopen safely, according to a news release. Newly devised Club Seats for parties of two or four to enjoy at a premium sold out quickly for the show.

Also, refunds will occur within 48 hours should a cancellation happen due to a city or state mandate regarding the virus, according to the news release.

Concertgoers will be asked to be mindful of their space and the proximity of others not in their party at all times. They're asked not to crowd the stage, to spread out and to be patient as the venue adopts new protocols.

As The Oklahoman reports, the Oklahoma City Council passed an emergency ordinance Friday that requires everyone in Oklahoma City ages 11 and older is to wear a face covering, like a mask or face shield, in indoor public spaces. Face coverings are especially recommended in places like concert venues where people are engaged in activities like shouting and singing.

Here are other protocols people can expect at the Aug. 9 concert:

  • All staff wearing masks and gloves.
  • 33% or below venue capacity so patrons can spread out and limit contact.
  • Temperature checks for all staff & patrons; anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above will not be admitted.
  • Additional sanitizing opportunities throughout the venue.
  • A simplified beverage menu to minimize contact between patrons and bar staff.
  • Limited seating for premium purchase for a closer view of the stage.
  • Swift refunds should an event cancel due to the virus.
