Training on piggery rearing & management in Longleng

Six-day Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) training programme on “piggery rearing and management” was organised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng from July 13-18 at KVK office, Longleng.

According to a press statement by KVK Longleng, the course director, Dr Lily Ngullie (ACTO) informed that skill training on piggery rearing and management was imparted to 15 rural youths from five different villages of Longleng district.  The resource persons for the training programme were DFS, NSRLM Longleng, Lemjan Phom; assistant professor, Konchem (department of economics) Yingli College Longleng; senior scientist & head, Dr. K.L.Meena; Dr. Lily Ngullie (ACTO) Animal Science and A Namei (KVK Longleng).  The main objective of the training programme was to impart skill in the area of piggery farming in order to encourage the rural youths to take up piggery farming for sustainable income generation.  The training programme sponsored by National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) Hyderabad concluded with assessment on the participants and distribution of completion certificate.
