Brutal Ayrshire thug who chomped victim’s EAR in blood-soaked attack hunted by cops

A BRUTAL attacker who chomped his victim's EAR in a blood-soaked assault is being hunted by cops.

The thug left a 27-year-old needing stitches to his lug after the incident in Saltcoats, Ayrshire on Saturday night.

Paramedics found the victim lying on the street covered in blood and rushed him to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatmant.

It's believed the ear-biter fled the scene and is currently being racked down.

An onlooker said: "It was horrendous.

"The two guys were fighting and then one hit the deck covered in blood.

"Someone called the ambulance saying his ear had been severed.

"Luckily it wasn't bitten off but that was blind luck rather than by design."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.35pm on Saturday, 18 July, we received reports of a serious assault on Green Street in Saltcoats.

“A 27-year-old man suffered serious injury and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment and released a short time later.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

We told how a man was left seriously injured after an alleged weapons attack in Motherwell - with three men arrested.

Cops were called out to reports of a disturbance near Asda on Watson Street.

One man was allegedly attacked with weapons and suffered serious injuries.

He was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

nd they traced two men to a nearby house and arrested them - before tracing a third and also arresting him.

A 52-year-old and a 29-year-old are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today charged with alleged serious assault, assault, disorder and possession of weapons.

A 48-year-old will also be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to assault, disorder and possession of an Offensive Weapon.
