by Simon Bajkowski, https://www.facebook.com/simonbajkowskijournalist/ · menKhaldoon Al Mubarak made sure David Silva knew how much he is loved at Manchester City after the Spaniard's final Premier League game for the club.
Silva is calling it a day at the Etihad after a ten-year stint that has seen the Blues win four Premier League titles during a sensational period of their history, with the player set to go down as one of the greatest to have ever played for them.
He received a standing ovation from City's players and their staff on Sunday against Norwich when he was withdrawn from the action, and after the game the chairman phoned Silva to thank him for his efforts during an exceptional decade.
Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure have all been honoured by the club in recent years for their contribution to the success over the past decade, and the man nicknamed Merlin for his ability on the ball will also be celebrated.

City are expected to confirm more details of how they plan to honour Silva once the 2019/20 season is complete.
Pep Guardiola's side take on Real Madrid a week on Friday and if they make it through they will then head to Portugal for the latter stages of the Champions League.
Silva has been in exceptional form and is expected to play a part in one final tilt at the European Cup before he moves onto his next challenge in the final years of his career.
