Marcus Rashford's representatives have hit back at claims the forward is currently under performing for Manchester United.

England international Rashford has been criticised for his performances in recent weeks with the forward struggling to find his best form since returning from a serious injury. Rashford's best performance since the restart came in last week's win against Crystal Palace but he then struggled against Chelsea and West Ham.

Rashford spent almost six months on the sidelines after he suffered a double stress fracture in his back in January, but returned for United when the Premier League resumed last month.

The 22-year-old is enjoying his best ever season in front of goal for United but has netted just three times since English football returned a month ago.

Rashford was poor during United's 1-1 draw with West Ham on Wednesday evening and after the game former defender Patrice Evra criticised the forward for his display.

“People are commenting a lot on Paul Pogba, using a lot of harsh words," he said at full-time. "I didn’t see any harsh words on Marcus Rashford, because Rashford had a poor game today.”

Rashford's representatives D N May Sports Management have now hit back at the criticism and reiterated the seriousness of the injury which he suffered earlier in the year.

"Lots said about the fitness of Marcus yesterday," they tweeted on Thursday. "What's incredible is that I am sure the boy is building himself back up to fitness from a potentially career-ending injury. United is a team that win together and lose together."
