In fact, there is almost unanimity that Xavi should become the next Barca coach and for several years. This is despite the fact Xavi recently renewed at Al Sadd but with a clause which says he can leave for Barcelona. The only thing is he does not have a great deal of coaching experience.
Therefore, the Dutch boss is seen as the perfect transition: another ex-Barca man who knows the club well. He can take over while Xavi gets more experience.
Laurent Blanc has also been at Barca although that was for just the one season.
