Cop jailed after he was filmed stealing £70 from patient being taken to hospital

A COP has been jailed after he was filmed stealing £70 from a patient being taken to hospital.

PC David Bunting, 49, was attending a welfare call with paramedics in February to see Clint Shaw, 44, when he pocketed cash from the floor.

But there was a camera hidden in Mr Shaw’s Oldham home.

Bunting, of Rochdale, admitted theft and was sentenced to three months’ jail at Preston crown court.

Mr Shaw’s sister Lindsey Shaw put the footage on Facebook.

It sparked fury and was shared 240 times.

One user said: “That’s disgusting.”

Dad Bunting is currently suspended from duty but is appealing his jail sentence.

His wife has since left him.
