Four youths were arrested, an officer was injured and others were kicked and spat at when Victoria police responded to a fight at the intersection of Douglas and View streets.

Officers were called about 11 p.m. Saturday and arrived to find what police called “a chaotic scene” involving several young people. Knives and other weapons were seized.

One youth was arrested after trying to flee the area, while one started kicking and spitting. Police said he continued to be combative in police cells.

He was later taken to hospital for injuries suffered while fighting with the other youths.

The injured officer was able to finish his shift.

Charges being considered in the incident include assault, assault with a weapon, obstruction and breaching court-ordered conditions.
