West Shore RCMP arrested three men ages 59, 69 and 72 after investigating suspected drug trafficking in a View Royal neighbourhood.

Police had received a number of complaints from people in the area about activities on a property near the Island Highway and the Trans-Canada Highway.

A search warrant was executed July 18 and the men were found inside a residence. Seized were over 80 grams of what is believed to be a combination of cocaine and crack cocaine, a replica long gun, about $1,000 in Canadian currency and a vehicle believed to have been used for drug trafficking.

West Shore RCMP Const. Nancy Saggar said the age range of the suspects is “unusual.”

“Even our officers that were investigating this, they were also surprised by the ages,” she said. “It’s not something that I think is common.”

The investigation is ongoing.
